Educational purpose only

TrueNumbers is an educational tool. Every calculator on this site exists to help you understand the math behind a financial decision β€” not to make that decision for you. The numbers you see here are estimates based on the inputs you provide and mathematical assumptions about interest rates, tax rules, inflation, investment returns, and other variables that change over time and differ by individual situation.

Nothing on this site constitutes financial, legal, investment, or tax advice. Results produced by these calculators should be treated as a starting point for your own research and conversations with qualified professionals β€” not as a final answer or a recommendation to act.

Accuracy and limitations

We make substantial efforts to ensure the calculations are mathematically correct. Our amortization schedules, tax estimates, investment projections, and cost models are built from first principles rather than simplified formulas, and we test each calculator against known values before publishing it.

That said, we make no warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. Actual costs will differ from estimates. Tax rules change. Contribution limits are adjusted annually. Interest rates fluctuate. Insurance premiums vary by location and insurer. The real figure that applies to your situation will come from your lender's official Loan Estimate, your employer's benefits documentation, your tax advisor, or other authoritative sources β€” not from this site.

If you find a calculation that looks wrong or doesn't match what you'd expect from the underlying math, please let us know. We take accuracy seriously and will investigate every report.

India calculators β€” regional variation

The India-specific calculators on this site β€” covering income tax, HRA exemption, SIP projections, PPF, EPF, home loan EMI, and related topics β€” are based on central government rules and national-level parameters. They do not account for state-level variations in professional tax rates, stamp duty, registration charges, local body taxes, or other jurisdiction-specific costs that vary by state or city.

Indian tax rules change with each Union Budget. Contribution limits, tax slab thresholds, Section 80C sub-limits, HRA exemption rules, and other parameters reflected in these calculators were accurate as of the most recent update but may not reflect mid-year changes or amendments. Always verify current figures with a qualified Chartered Accountant or tax advisor before filing or making financial decisions.

EPF and PPF interest rates are announced periodically by the government and may differ from the defaults used in these calculators. SIP and mutual fund projections use assumed rates of return that are not guaranteed and do not represent past or future performance of any specific fund. Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks β€” read all scheme-related documents carefully before investing.

Consult qualified professionals

Before making any major financial decision β€” buying or renting a home, taking on debt, investing, changing jobs, planning for retirement β€” consult with qualified professionals who can evaluate your specific situation. Depending on the decision, that may include a licensed financial advisor or Certified Financial Planner, a mortgage professional or licensed lender, a real estate attorney, a tax advisor or Chartered Accountant, or other specialists.

These calculators can help you arrive at a conversation with those professionals better prepared β€” knowing the right questions to ask, understanding what the numbers mean, and having a clearer sense of the tradeoffs involved. That's what they're designed for.

No liability
